Policies
Eligibility: This service is exclusively available to Faculty and Staff members issued a device by the University.
Request Procedure: Requests for computer installation or reloading should be submitted through the Jacket Connect Services portal or by contacting the Help Desk. Please note that this process typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the current workload and the specific requirements of the installation. We recommend submitting requests well in advance to accommodate this time frame. Installation or reloading services are performed during standard university working hours. While we strive to accommodate all requests promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to essential university operations.
Data Backup: In the event that data backup is necessary, we will securely back up the data for a period of up to 6 months. After this period of time, the data will be deleted in compliance with data storage policies and to ensure the efficient use of storage resources. It is advised that users maintain a personal backup of any critical data.
Compliance: Every installation and reload is conducted with adherence to IT policies. This ensures compliance with software licensing and cybersecurity standards. Our objective is to maintain a secure and productive environment suitable for academic and professional needs. Requests for specific software or configurations will be carefully evaluated to ensure they meet our standards for both compliance and practicality.
