Reduced Tuition for State Employees

Issue/Question

If you're a benefits eligible employee with at least one year of continuous service, you may qualify for reduced tuition and graduate assistantships to help you advance your education and career.

A current, benefit eligible employee is interested in taking classes.

Resolution

The South Dakota Board of Regents is proud to invest in your growth!

Eligibility Requirements:

  • One year of continuous, benefits-eligible employment with the State of South Dakota
  • South Dakota residency
  • A cumulative college GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Good standing in your current role
  • Not entitled to other reduced tuition benefits by law
  • Have not exceeded the 6-credit hour maximum per semester

Note - Employees are not allowed to have a regular, full-time, benefited position and have an assistantship at the same time.
