The BHSU Climate Resiliency Plan provides a roadmap to help Black Hills State University and the Spearfish community prepare for changing climate conditions and extreme weather events. The plan focuses on strengthening emergency preparedness, protecting natural resources, supporting economic and community resilience, and building partnerships that will help the campus and community adapt and thrive.
BHSU’s Sustainability Master Plan sets goals to cut emissions 33 percent by 2030 and reach carbon neutrality by 2050. The plan also focuses on water and waste reduction, sustainable food and grounds, and preparing for climate change. These efforts will lower costs, protect resources, and keep BHSU a leader in sustainability.
