Issue/Question

How do I enroll in Everbridge?
Can BHSU and BHRC staff, faculty and student enroll to receive notification alerts in case of an emergency? 

Environment

  • Black Hills State University (BHSU) and Black Hills State University–Rapid City (BHRC) faculty, staff, and students who wish to receive emergency notifications, including weather alerts, safety threats, and campus closures.

Cause

Everbridge is the emergency notification system used by BHSU and BHRC to quickly inform the campus community of critical events. Enrollment is required to receive alerts.

Resolution

To enroll in Everbridge:

  1. Visit the BHSU Website.

  2. Enter “BHSU Campus Alert” in the search bar.

  3. Follow the instructions provided to sign up and manage your notification settings.

Mobile App Option:

  • Download the Everbridge App from the Apple Store or Google Play.

  • Log in using your BHSU credentials.

  • Enable notifications through the app to receive real-time alerts.

Enrollment allows you to receive:

  • Severe weather alerts

  • Campus lockdown and safety notifications

  • Emergency building closures and class cancellations

  • Utility disruptions

You can also opt in to multiple groups depending on your role or campus location.
