NOTE:  Black Hills State University tests in the following areas for English and Math placements (we do not test for Reading or Arithmetic):

1.  ACCUPLACER Writing:  The Writing test evaluates your ability to revise and edit multiprargraph text for effective expression of ideas, and to demonstrate your understanding of standard English conventions like sentence structure, usage, and punctuation.
2. Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics:  The Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics test assesses a range of topics including computing and rational numbers, applying ratios and proportional reasoning, creating linear expressions and equations, graphing and applying linear equations, understanding probability and sets, and interpreting graphical displays.
3. Advanced Algebra and Functions:  The Advanced Algebra and Functions test focuses on equations and functions, including linear, quadratic, rational, radical, polynomial, and exponential.
