How do I start a 3-way conference call?

How do I create a conference call for 3 or more people?

Environment

• Cisco VoIP 7945/7965
• Cisco VoIP 8841/8861

Cause

Need to add one or more extensions to a call.

Resolution

To create a conference call (up to 8 total participants) for 7945/7965 VoIP Phones:

1. During an active call, press More softkey to get to additional features
2. Press Confrn (this will put the other line on hold)
3. Dial Number and announce conference call
4. Press Confrn again to add this line to the conference

To create a conference call (up to 8 total participants) for 8841/8861 VoIP Phones:

1. During an active call, press the ••• soft key on the phone display screen
2. Press the Conference soft key
3. Active call will be placed on hold and a second line will be activated with dial tone
4. Dial the second person’s phone number
5. Once the second person answers, press the Conference soft key again
6. Repeat to add more participants
