Installing the Campus Printers on a Personal Computer

The printers across campus are available for faculty, staff, and students to install on their personal devices. Supported device types are Windows, MacOS, Chromebook, iPad/iPhone, or Android. However, any device with a web browser can also upload documents to https://papercut.bhsu.edu by clicking on the web print button on the left side of the screen and following the onscreen directions.

One requirement for printing is the device must be connected to the BHSU network through either BHSU-Secure, BHSU-Guest, Blackhills, eduRoam, or BHSURC Wifi.

  1. To download the printer package, go to https://bhsu.edu/installprinter
  2. The page will ask what type of device you are currently using.
    1. Select Windows if you are using a PC that is running Microsoft Windows
    2. Select MacOS if your computer is an Apple running MacOS
    3. ​​​​​​​Or select Other Devices if you are on an iPad, iPhone, Android Tablet, Android Phone, or any other type of device other than a computer running Windows or MacOS

 

Windows – Detailed Instructions

  1. Click on the download button
  2. Run the file that is downloaded to your computer
  3. Select Yes to approve the installer
  4. Pick the language you would like the installer to continue using and click on OK
  5. Accept the End User License Agreement and click on Next
  6. At the printer selection screen, make sure CampusPrinters is selected and click on Next
  7. Enter your BHSU email and email password on the next screen
  8. Click finish
  9. The printer is now installed on your computer and can be selected as you normally would when you print your documents

Mac – Detailed Instructions

  1. Click on the download button
  2. Double-click on the file once it has finished downloading
  3. Double-click on the Papercut Mobility Print Client.pkg file that opens to start the installer
  4. Click Continue and Agree to the Software License Agreement
  5. Click on install
  6. The installer will ask for admin credentials, enter your Mac’s administrator credentials to start the install process
  7. Click close on the installer and select move to trash
  8. You will now have a printer called CampusPrinters installed on your Mac that you can select when you print your documents
  9. The first time you print, you will have a popup asking for the name and password for the printer “CampusPrinters” – please enter your BHSU email and email password and then click on the remember my password in my keychain checkbox
