Cause
Needing the desktop version of Microsoft Office on a personal computer.
Needing the app version of Microsoft Office on a phone/tablet.
Resolution
How To Download On a Personal Computer:
- Open and log into Office 365 online with your BHSU credentials.
- On the right side, select "Install and more"
- From the drop-down, select "Install Microsoft 365 apps"
- Click the 'Install Office' Button to download the entire Office 365 suite. This could look like either images below.
- At the very bottom of your screen you will see ‘OfficeSetup.exe’. It may also show in the upper right hand corner as 'OfficeSetup.exe'. Once this is fully downloaded, double-click on it, and select yes.
- If pop-up appears asking "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", select yes.
- It will take time to fully download. Do not go offline during this time.
- **Note** BHSU-owned computers should already have the Microsoft Office suite installed. Search ‘Word’ on your laptops task bar to see if you have it. If it is the 2016 version, you are using an out-of-date version and you should arrange a time with the Help Desk to update this for you.
**Note** You will not find this option on Chromebooks, because Chromebooks do not support Microsoft office. However, you can use the online version of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint by creating a file in your Onedrive and editing the file directly in your browser.
How To Download On a Phone/Tablet:
- Open and log into Office 365 online with your BHSU credentials.
- On the right side, select "Install and more"
- From the drop-down, select "Install the Microsoft 365 mobile app".
- Scan the QR code using your phone/tablet.
- It will direct you to download the app.
