Issue/Question
I have a hold on my account because of a sanction from a conduct hearing. How do I get that removed?

Cause
You have not completed a sanction or sanctions that you agreed to during your conduct hearing, and now you have a disciplinary hold on your account, and you would like information about how to remove it.
Resolution
When students fail to complete their conduct sanctions in the agreed timeframe, Residence Life staff will put a Disciplinary Hold on a student’s account. This hold affects a student’s account in a few ways, but most often it prevents them from making changes to their schedule (adding or dropping courses).
The fastest way to have that hold removed is to complete the sanction as assigned and provide your Hearing Officer with documentation that it is complete. Once the documentation is submitted, the hold will be removed.
We understand that not all sanctions can be completed quickly; the OPTIONS Course through the Counseling Center is one such example. When this is the case, your Hearing Officer can lift the hold for 24 hours, allow you to make the changes, and then place the hold back on your account until documentation is provided stating your sanction(s) are complete.
- Please note: The Hearing Officer will only do this one time. After doing this once, the only way to remove the hold is to complete the assigned sanctions you agreed to.
