How do I place an order for printed Research Posters?
Resolution
We know research posters are usually on a tight timeline and we are happy to work with you, but you must give us advanced notice. Please let us know 3 full weeks in advance of placing the actual order for posters, if at all possible.
This will allow us to give our vendor (Quik Signs) advance notice so they can plan their workflow around our rush order. It also ensures all invoicing and payment related paperwork is processed accurately and according to University procedures.
When notifying us of an upcoming order, provide the following information:
- Poster size(s)
- Quantity (of each size, if applicable)
- Date needed for pickup
- The name of the individual authorized to pick up. (This individual will need to pick the posters up directly from Quik Signs).
Shortly after receiving your notification, we will contact the vendor to get your project scheduled and then get back to you with the deadline for submitting the final poster design(s) and a completed Print Ready order form, BHSU.edu/PrintReady.
We will most likely recommend having the order form submitted with rough drafts of each design prior to the deadline for submission of the final poster designs. This leaves time for us to review the posters, ensure they meet BHSU Brand Guidelines, and to get any necessary adjustments made.
When using the vertical BHSU Logo, it will need to be at least 3 inches wide. If using the horizontal BHSU Logo, it will need to be at least 4 inches wide. Make sure when resizing that the Logo doesn’t get skewed out of proportion in any way. Either version of the Logo, at these sizes, must have at least 0.75 inches of open space (Exclusion Zone) around it – so no text, design elements, images within the area around the Logo. Ensure the Logo color contrasts well with the background so it is easy to see.
Use the updated Logos found in this Jacket Connect article: https://support.bhsu.edu/TDClient/30/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=707
Ensure all BHSU email addresses on the posters are formatted with proper caps: First.Last@BHSU.edu or First.Last@YellowJackets.BHSU.edu
We understand there is a lot of info on each poster, but ensure there is at least a 1/4 inch between the edge of the important content and the edge of the poster to allow our vendor to trim the edges.
Plan to send both a pdf and a PowerPoint of each poster to us when finalized, that way we can share both file types with our vendor and they can print whichever version is going to turn out best with their printers.
Please email Lori.DuBry@BHSU.edu, Print Services Coordinator, if you have any questions.
