Cause
You would like information about alternative housing for yourself and possibly your family while attending, or working for BHSU.
Resolution
BHSU Residence Life offered a limited number of on-campus housing units for students with families, faculty, and staff. They are available to rent for those who qualify for one of the following:
- They are a BHSU student who is married, or has a dependent, etc.
- They are a BHSU faculty member, or
- They are a BHSU staff member. All units are unfurnished.
Traditionally, we have not rented these units to unmarried students, but we have done so more frequently in recent years.
All available units at BHSU are 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom, 648 sq ft., unfurnished for $911.00/month (utilities included).
Lease agreements are aligned with the academic year, running from August 1 to July 31 of the following year. Those signing leases after August first will begin on the day the resident moves in, and will end on July 31 of the next calendar year. Residents may resign their leases for the next academic year.
Application Process
- Please complete the 12 Month Apartment Application, and return it to BHSU Residence Life via email or by mail to the address below:
- Qualifying applicants will be placed on a waiting list in the order they were received.
- If a unit becomes available, Residence Life staff contacts those on the waiting list to determine whether they remain interested in on-campus family, faculty, and staff housing.
- After an interested party is identified, Residence Life staff will draft a lease agreement and send it digitally for a signature.
- The $250 security deposit and any prorated rent for the current month are due when the resident takes control of the assigned unit.
