You’ve completed your Housing Application and Agreement and now need to pay the $100 Housing Deposit.

Cause

  • You fall under the 2-year live-on requirement and have completed the housing application and agreement and now need to pay the $100 Housing Deposit for on-campus housing at BHSU.
  • You do not fall under the 2-year live-on requirement but would like to live on-campus and have completed the housing application and agreement, and now need to pay the $100 Housing Deposit for on-campus housing at BHSU.

Resolution

There are four (4) ways to submit your $100 BHSU Housing Deposit.

Submit Online.

  • Using a credit or debit card, you can pay your $100 using our online payment portal.
  • Click the Resident Life Fees category.
  • Select the Room Deposit – Black Hills State University option.
  • Enter your Name and Student ID (Buzz Card number)
  • Click “Add to Cart.”
  • Click Checkout.
  • Review your information and click “Continue.”
  • If you have an account, please sign in. If you do not have an account, click “Continue as Guest.”
  • Enter the required information, then click “Continue.”
  • Enter the required payment card information, then click “Continue.”
    • BHSU accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, JCB, and Union Pay.
  • A Confirmation Email (receipt) will be sent to the email you provided on the previous screen.
  • What You’ll Need
    • About five (5) minutes of time.
    • Your student ID number (Buzz Card Number).
    • Accurate billing information (billing address)
    • A debit or credit card for payment (see acceptable payment methods above).
    • A valid email for confirmation.

Submit by Mail.

  • Using a check or cash, you can mail your $100 Housing Deposit to the address below:
    • BHSU Residence Life

  • Checks should be made payable to: Black Hills State University or BHSU
  • If the check doesn’t come from your bank account or you’re paying a deposit for someone else, it is advisable to include the student’s name and student ID (Buzz Card number) in the memo line.
  • Please allow up to two (2) weeks for the payment to arrive and be processed.
  • It is advisable to call our office (605-642-6464) to confirm that your payment was received and applied to your application.
  • What you’ll need
    • Residence Life’s mailing address
    • Your student ID number (Buzz Card number)
    • A method of payment (cash or check)
    • An envelope and postage.

Over the Phone.

  • To submit your $100 Housing Deposit over the phone with a credit or debit card, call the Office of Residence Life at 605-642-6464.
  • Indicate that you are calling to pay your housing deposit.
  • Provide your name and student ID (Buzz Card number).
  • Provide your payment method information:
    • Credit or debit card number
    • Expiration date (month and year)
    • Card Security code (located on the back of the card.
  • Please remain on the line as the staff runs your card information. The staff will notify you when your payment has been processed and can send you a receipt via email.
  • A confirmation email and receipt will be sent to the email you provide.
  • What you’ll need
    • About five (5) minutes of time.
    • Your student ID number (Buzz Card Number).
    • A debit or credit card for payment (see acceptable payment methods above).
    • A valid email for confirmation.

Submit in person.

  • Visit our office in person to pay your $100 Housing Deposit; we are in the BHSU Student Union Administrative Suite (SU 105) and the Student Engagement and Leadership Center (SU 110).
  • We accept cash, checks, and credit/debit cards at our office (see above for the types of cards we accept) for your $100 Housing Deposit.
  • What you’ll need.
    • A method of payment (cash, check, or card).
    • Student ID number (Buzz Card number).
    • Residence Life’s office locations.
