Issue/Question
I have someone volunteering in my department. What paperwork is needed?

Cause
Volunteers will be used to perform work on campus or on behalf of the University.
Resolution
Log into DocuSign,
- Select Volunteer Work Agreement in templates
- The Supervisor, Program Assistant, and Volunteer will all need to complete information.
- Once submitted, HR will enter the volunteer's information into Banner.
Note: It is vital that volunteers be documented in our Banner system for the purpose of risk management (in the event they are hurt while volunteering).
Note: Please check with HR to confirm whether or not a background check will need to be completed. Background checks will be charged to the department the volunteer is in.
Note: Persons who have traveled to the U.S. on a temporary visa may not be allowed to perform volunteer work. Volunteering may impact their current or future visa statuses. Contact Human Resources for more information.
