Body
Issue/Question
You want to create a compliant NSF biosketch and current, pending & other support documents using SciENcv.
Environment
Cause
You want to submit a grant proposal to the National Science Foundation, and you are required to create a biosketch and current & pending support document using SciENcv.
Resolution
Go to SciENcv by following this link: SciENcv: Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae (nih.gov)
You will see a screen that looks like the one below. Click the link for National Science Foundation:
That will take you to a login page where you login using your NSF Research.gov credentials. Once you do that, you will land here:
You can edit your profile by clicking the edit link. If you have an ORCID iD, you can add it to your profile, and it will pull in publications you have in ORCID automatically. (However, you do not need an ORCID iD to create a biosketch. You can add publications manually.)
Then you can click the link to Create a New Document. That will bring you here:
Be sure to create an NSF Biographical Sketch and an NSF Current and Pending (Other) Support document. (The default biosketch is the one for the NIH, which has you write a personal statement. You don’t need to do that for an NSF-style biosketch.)
From there, you can fill in the information in the three categories, A) Professional Preparation, B) Appointments and Positions, and C) Products
Sections A and B are self-explanatory.
Section C, Products, will pull in publications from your ORCID account, if you have one. Or you can click “Manage My Bibliography” to add publications manually.
More information about NSF biosketches can be found in the PAPPG: Chapter II: Proposal Preparation Instructions - Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) (NSF 23-1) | NSF - National Science Foundation
