What is the Free Store’s Purpose?
The Free Store’s purpose is to make basic goods like clothing, food, cookware, and books more accessible to students and staff while promoting a more sustainable lifestyle.

Who can use the Free Store?
The Free Store is proud to serve BHSU students, staff, and community members. Everyone is welcome to shop and donate at the Free Store.

What can you donate?
The Free Store is looking for items that are clean, working, and gently used. Items that are in most demand are kitchen items, decorations, entertainment items (movies, video games, board games), non-perishable food, clothes, and school supplies. As a friendly reminder please check your clothing for stains and rips. The Free store accepts and appreciates all donations expect for bedding, used undergarments, worn out clothes, and perishable foods.

When is the Free Store open?
The business hours for the school year for dropping off donations and or shopping will be published by the first day of the Fall Semester.

How many items can you take from the Free Store?
The Free Store is an endless supply for all students, staff, and community members. Anyone can take as much as they need and come as often as they’d like. There is no limit to the items you can take.

How does the donating process work?
The donating process is easy: just drop off your items at the Free Store during regular working hours and there will be staff there to assist you.Please do not donate outside of regular working hours.

Wanting to donate food to the Free Store?
The Free Store accepts non-perishable food donations. We ask that you double check the expiration date on your items before bringing them to the Free Store.

Can you Volunteer in the Free Store?
If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering at the Free Store you can contact Debbie Liddick at Deborah.liddick@bhsu.edu or reach out to the staff working in the Free Store during business hours.
