How do I transfer a call?

How do I access my voice mail remotely?

Environment

  • Cisco VoIP phones

Resolution

To Answer a Call:

  • Lift handset or press speakerphone

To Place a Call:

  • Lift handset or press the Speakerphone button 
  • For on campus, dial the 4 digit extension
  • For off campus: 
    • Local call: dial 9 + extension
    • Long distance call: dial 9-1 + extension

To Transfer a Call:

  • From an active call, press the Transfer key
    • 7900 series: Transf soft key
    • 8800 series: Transfer button TransferButton
  • Dial the recipient’s extension
  • Press the Transfer key again

To Set Up Mailbox:

  • Press the Voice Mail button
    • 7900 series: Messages button
    • 8800 series: Voice mail VoiceMailButton
  • Enter the Default PIN (147258) followed by # 
  • Follow the voice prompts to record Name and Greeting
  • Type in your personal pin number 

To Access Voice Mail:

  • Dial 1200 or press the Voice Mail button:
    • 7900 series: Messages button
    • 8800 series: Voice mail VoiceMailButton
  • Enter your PIN, followed by #

To Access Your Mailbox Remotely:

  • Dial your Direct Dial number (ex. 605-642-5555)
  • When the greeting starts, press *
  • Enter your ID (Extension number) followed by #
  • Enter your PIN, followed by #
